SCATS Applications

An extensive range of innovative applications are available to provide a highly configurable system to meet traffic management requirements of any city around the world.

 

 

SCATS Alarm Analyser

SCATS Alarm Analyser is used to analyse alarm related data that has been collected by SCATS. It collates data on more than 30 alarm types over a user-definable period of time. The data can then be filtered, sorted and viewed as text or graphs supporting the investigation and identification of problems that may otherwise be difficult to find.

SCATS Communications Analyser

SCATS Communications Analyser is used to analyse critical communication related data collected by SCATS. It collates the data on the communication between sites (intersections), their SCATS regions and associated fall-backs.

The data can then be filtered, sorted and viewed as text or graphs supporting the investigation and identification of problems that may otherwise be difficult to find.

SCATS Traffic Reporter

SCATS Traffic Reporter summarises traffic counts captured historically at SCATS sites, as well as some of the strategic decisions made by SCATS to adapt to changing traffic conditions. This information can be used for traffic modelling or diagnostic purposes.

SCATS Event Generator

SCATS Event Generator allows non-SCATS events or actions from external devices to be detected and stored within the SCATS event log.

SCATS Congestion Suite

SCATS Congestion Suite is comprised of the Congestion Server and the Unusual Congestion Monitor. The Congestion Server maintains a database of historic congestion at sites and creates an average congestion profile. This profile is then compared to the current congestion, to determine if a site is unusually congested. The Unusual Congestion Monitor displays this unusual congestion information in a graphical and tabular format.

SCATSIM

The SCATS Simulation Suite (SCATSIM) is a framework enabling SCATS to operate as the control system for traffic signals within a microsimulation traffic model. SCATS in this context consists of SCATS Central Manager, SCATS Regions configured for simulation and a simulation version of WinTRAFF to emulate traffic signal controllers in a simulator.

SCATS Flexigen

SCATS Flexigen simplifies the configuration of how SCATS sites are to be coordinated when there no centralised control (Flexilink mode).

SCATS Action Runner

SCATS Action Runner provides a simple user interface for carrying out commonly used traffic signal management tasks. It supports:

Execution of SCATS action lists, which override normal traffic signal operation to accommodate special events, emergencies and other unique traffic conditions.

Execution of route pre-emption plans, which provides green lights over a particular route to allow high-priority vehicles to pass through without stopping.

SCATS Link View

SCATS Link View is used to design, analyse and optimise traffic signal coordination settings. This is achieved through a time and distance graph which helps visualise how traffic will flow through coordinated sites.

SCATS History Viewer

SCATS History Viewer summarises general historical traffic signal operation. This information is presented through various tabular and graphical displays which could be used for traffic modelling or diagnostic purposes. It also facilitates the extraction of this data into commonly used formats that can be easily consumed by other systems.

SCATS File Decoder

SCATS File Decoder summarises raw record data found in various binary files that are generated by SCATS.  This information could be used for further analysis and diagnostics.

SCATS Detector Counts Viewer

SCATS Detector Counts Viewer summarises traffic counts captured historically at SCATS sites. This information is presented through various tabular and graphical displays which could be used for traffic modelling and diagnostics.

It also facilitates the extraction of this data into commonly used formats that can be easily consumed by other systems.
